The North Scottsdale Men's Golf Association is dedicated to fun, fellowship and great golf! Our professional staff has worked closely with the great team at our home course, Vista Verde, to establish the organization.  Our goal is to provide local players the opportunity to play in a "Country Club" atmosphere where service and attention to detail are important aspects of the golfing experience as well as provide a competitive environment for our members.

Along with the great atmosphere you will be experiencing golf on one of the best maintained courses in the valley. From the lush fairways to smooth and true greens, your ability will be put to the test week in and week out!

The membership consists of gentlemen golfers of varying skill levels, all of whom were looking for an organized group to play with on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. Our volunteer committee makes sure there is a "game" set up every week, an optional skins game, hole-in-one pool, post-tournament scoring and awards.

ANNOUNCING

The Third Annual

Summer Match Play Series

PLEASE NOTE AND UNDERSTAND: All matches are scheduled for Sunday Play, every-other week.  If for some reason a player cannot play their scheduled match on a Sunday, they may make arrangements with David Pope, to play the match PRIOR to the next scheduled event*.  Players that CAN play on Sunday have preference and if the player who cannot play on a Sunday is paired with a player that can ONLY play on Sunday, the "Sunday Only" player will be awarded the match through forfeit if no other time can be worked out between the players involved (NO EXCEPTIONS).  IF YOU  NEED TO RESCHEDULE A MATCH, IT IS UP TO YOU TO CONTACT YOUR MATCH PLAY PARTNER AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO SCHEDULE THE MATCH WITH THEM – THEN NOTIFY DAVID POPE OF THE PLANNED PLAY DATE – We must notify Vista Verde of your Match.  YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER AND PAY ONLINE PRIOR TO YOUR MATCH (Failure to pay online PRIOR to your match will result in the match not counting and will have to be rescheduled/replayed). 

*ALL OUTSTANDING MATCHES MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO THE NEXT SCHEDULED MATCH PLAY EVENT

Trophies will go to the 1st & 2nd Place winners.  There will also be additional prizes and awards

·        WE WILL BE CHANGING OUR STARTING TIME TO 7:30 AM FOR ALL EVENTS

·        RATES FOR GOLF/PRIZE FUND WILL BE $59.00

·        SKINS/HOLE IN ONE WILL BE $11.00 CASH – DAY OF EVENT (same as always)

·        LUNCH WILL NOT BE INCLUDED (Clubhouse is closed until January 2010 for remodeling)  We may find a place to meet for lunch, scoring & awards following golf.  This will be “on your own” and will not be included in the price.  More details as they become available.

·        PLEASE invite your golfing buddies to come out and join us.  We need to keep growing our membership.

·        We are working on establishing a rating for the Copper tees for our “Rule of 90” eligible Members (Age + Handicap = 90 or higher).  We will inform you when this has been accomplished.

"MAJOR" ANNOUNCEMENT!

The NSMGA has decided to considerably enhance our Player of the Year Points format.  Here is what will be available to all 2009 “Major” Winners (this is OVER AND ABOVE the Player of the Year Cash prizes)*:

·        GRAND SLAM (Win All 4 Majors) = $1,000.00 Cash to the Winner

·        Win 3-Majors: $750.00 Cash to the Winner

·        Win 2-Majors: $500.00 (One player with 2 wins or 2 players with 2 wins, $500.00 EACH)

·        Single Major Tournament Winner(s): $250.00 Cash to the Major Winner(s)

*Must meet all minimum participation requirements to be eligible as stated on the official NSMGA website

*Must Play in all 4 Major Tournaments in 2009 to collect any award stated above

*Award Pay-Outs will be made at the 2009 Member Appreciation Banquette following the Club Championship in December
